GTECH: GTECH PRINTING CORPORATION (GPC) SELECTED BY THE WEST VIRGINIA LOTTERY AS SOLE PROVIDER OF INSTANT-TICKET PRINTING SERVICES, FOLLOWING COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT

January 25, 2012

LAKELAND, FLORIDA; PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND; and ROME, ITALY – January 25, 2012 – GTECH Corporation announced that its subsidiary, GTECH Printing Corporation (GPC), has received a three-year contract to be the sole, instant-ticket printing services provider for the West Virginia Lottery, following a competitive procurement. The contract is expected to commence on February 1, 2012, and provides for two one-year extension options.

“The West Virginia Lottery’s confidence in our ability to meet the challenges of their market is very gratifying,” said GPC President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Eland. “We value the opportunity to create a new partnership with the West Virginia Lottery to help further grow their instant-ticket program and maximize funds the Lottery generates for West Virginia senior citizens, education, and tourism.”

Since its inception in 1986, the West Virginia Lottery has been serviced by a GPC competitor.

GPC’s parent company, GTECH Corporation, has been the West Virginia Lottery’s online products and services provider since 2008. With GTECH and GPC as providers of both online and instant-printing services, the West Virginia Lottery will continue to benefit from the reliability and security of GTECH’s online products andservices, as well as GPC’s expertise in instant-ticket optimization, printing, warehousing, and distribution strategies.

GPC is the fastest-growing, instant-game manufacturing company in the industry and is currently servicing more than 50 customers worldwide. GPC expects to begin manufacturing instant tickets for the West Virginia Lottery at its new printing facility in Lakeland, Florida, in the first half of 2012.
